The Xerox Iridesse Production Press is one of the most advanced six-color production printers available today. It combines CMYK with two specialty colors in a single pass, enabling metallic effects, white underlays, varnish, and fluorescent tones. It is a machine designed for demanding applications and high-volume production.
The company Mar-Pak (MP Print) from Podstrana, Croatia has made a major leap forward in digital printing with the recent installation of the Xerox Iridesse Production Press, the first of this configuration in Dalmatia and southern Croatia. The machine was supplied by Image Enter, an authorized Xerox partner for Croatia. Until now, Mar-Pak had been working with a Versant 180 with an extended color set, but the new machine elevates the company’s capabilities to an entirely new level.
“We are shocked and pleasantly surprised by the technical capabilities of the machine, despite our already high expectations. We are particularly impressed by the print quality, speed, and reliability. We have already completed a large volume of work in a short time without a single stoppage,” said Ms. Ana Jukic, owner of Mar-Pak.
Top-Tier Configuration
The system comes with a vacuum feed tray for more precise paper handling, a production-ready finisher for booklet making and stapling, and full print personalization capabilities. In addition to standard CMYK, users have access to five additional specialty toners (gold, silver, white, clear varnish, and fluorescent pink), enabling a wide range of metallic and spot effects. Iridesse is characterized by consistent print quality, especially in demanding applications that require fine detail reproduction and stable color across various substrates.
A major role in this is played by the Fiery DFE, which enables consistent, repeatable, and fully controlled color reproduction, including specialty toners such as white, gold, and silver. Tools like Command WorkStation, Fiery Impose/Compose, and intelligent RIP management enable faster workflows, precise imposition, reliable handling of complex files, and automation of repetitive tasks, reducing the possibility of errors and optimizing machine utilization, which directly translates into higher productivity and profitability. The system also includes a spectrophotometer for machine calibration and ICC profile creation, as well as the Fiery Spot Pro tool with an integrated spot color library.
New Business Opportunities
Mar-Pak will use the printer to produce personalized boxes, stickers and labels, marketing materials, menus, photographs, brochures, catalogs, and business cards. This is a wide range of applications requiring both quality and speed, which Iridesse delivers without difficulty.
Ms. Jukic emphasizes that the new machine also opens up new business opportunities:
“We can offer faster delivery and larger formats, including banners up to 1.2 meters. A major advantage is the enhanced embellishment capability, as the machine prints six colors in a single pass, allowing for a broader spectrum of metallic tones. We can also offer clients more accurate reproduction of Pantone and other color palettes.”
The installation in Podstrana is also significant for Eurotrade.
