Packaging and Labels Between Growth and New Rules: The Industry Gathers in Zagreb

In the graphic arts industry, few areas interweave technology, materials, trends, growth, and legal regulations as strongly as packaging and labels.

At a time when legislation requires increasingly more from packaging and labels while demanding less from design, Print Magazin is organizing the 3rd Packaging and Labels Conference, set to take place on October 22, 2026, in the Winter Garden hall of the Zagreb Fair.

It will gather the entire value chain – packaging and label manufacturers and converters, print shops, equipment and material suppliers, brand owners, designers, and packaging users from the food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, FMCG, and other industries.

The timing of the conference aligns perfectly with the entry into force of the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which generally came into force on August 12, 2026. Its initial requirements are already impacting technical documentation, proof of conformity, and PFAS restrictions in food contact packaging.

However, even greater changes lie ahead. Regulation is only part of the shift. At the same time, manufacturers demand shorter lead times, smaller print runs, and more product variations without compromising quality or cost. Consequently, digital and hybrid printing, automation, connected workflows, and artificial intelligence directly affect productivity, quality control, material consumption, and time-to-market adaptability.

The conference program will aim to cover as many of these current topics as possible, and will be announced soon!

Who Do We Expect?

The conference is intended for the entire value chain, including business owners, C-level executives, production managers, technical directors, packaging development, quality, and sustainability experts, procurement managers, brand managers, and designers from Adria-Balkan region.

You can register now!
