SATO Joins the EBRD’s Blue Ribbon Program

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) reported that it has included SATO, a Zabok, Croatia-based company and one of the region’s leading label manufacturers, in its Blue Ribbon program. This initiative helps high-potential local enterprises accelerate growth, enhance competitiveness, and prepare for their next phase of development.

SATO is only the fifth Croatian company to join the Blue Ribbon program, following road maintenance equipment manufacturer RASCO, rubber manufacturing company Gumiimpex-GRP, furniture manufacturer Prostoria, and IT firm Infinum.

Today, the SATO Group employs more than 340 people. Through continuous investments, strategic acquisitions, and international expansion, it has established operations in Croatia, Germany, and North Macedonia, serving clients across European markets.

The Blue Ribbon program is designed for promising, growth-oriented companies, spanning five years and offering tailor-made advisory support alongside access to finance.

“The EBRD’s Blue Ribbon program recognized SATO’s strong commitment to innovation and market growth. We are pleased to support their expansion over the next five years through strategic advice and access to finance as they continue developing their business and strengthening management capacity,” said Vedran Panjković from the EBRD, according to a press release reported by Hina.

Under the program, SATO will have access to advisory services and a network of fellow entrepreneurs and experts. This is expected to help the company further boost its competitiveness and organizational capacity, as well as execute future growth-oriented initiatives.

As highlighted by Ms. Karla Josipa Habus, Director of SATO, joining the Blue Ribbon program comes at a vital stage in their ongoing development—a moment when they continue to invest in innovation, expand into new markets, and strengthen their foothold in the packaging and label industry.
