External finishing service is often a „bottleneck“ in production because these products are usually small editions and classic printing houses are reluctant to interrupt the finishing of high-volume work. Also, in the case of external finishing, the printing service provider has no control over the quality of the finishing process.
In order to avoid any of the above situations, Macan printing house from Zagreb recognized in time that finishing was their “bottleneck” and decided to invest in as many as four finishing machines – Multigraf Touchline CF375 for creasing, perforation and folding, Duplo PFI Blade B2 +, digital cutter, Duplo PFi Bind 2100 gluer and STAGO USM 240 automatic stapler.
All machines were delivered and installed by Eurocop, an authorized distributor of these brands. Mr. Bozidar Macan, owner and director of the Macan printing house, told us more about installation.
This is the first time we write about as many as four investments at the same time in one printing house, and in four finishing machines. Why finishing?
Finishing can often be a problematic part of the print, especially when working with external collaborators, due to the inability to control process and quality. Therefore, we decided to invest in finishing machines that monitor all our existing devices. We achieved that we can finish everything we print ourselves. This way, we continue to develop the concept where quality comes first and where even small editions can be top-notch at an optimal price. Ultimately, this is what customers expect.
What needs were you guided by when deciding about the investment?
The first and basic condition was a high degree of automation of each machine. As much as it is a big investment at the moment, in the long run it is the only way to survive in the market. The new services we are now able to offer will confirm our recognition in the market as “Boutique printing houses for big things”.
