Letis printing house was founded in 1996. It is focused on production for local companies in the area of north Croatia. In their business, for the last 25 years, offset technology has been the most important technology in operation. As far as production is concerned, it covers a wide range of products, from various printed forms, notepads, leaflets, prospects to books and packaging items. There are two large Heidelberg offset machines in the facility, and a new Ricoh Pro C7200X.
We asked the company’s director, Mr. Dejan Lecek, if this is the first Ricoh in their facility?
For a short time we worked on the Ricoh Pro C7100 series, which we received from Eurocop to use while we waited for the new model. We have had the current model Ricoh Pro C7200X for about half a year. Previously, we had a digital production machine from another manufacturer. Considering the good experiences of our friends, who have been cooperating with Eurocop for a long time, we decided for the Ricoh Pro C7200X model. It was primarily due to the fifth color, which opens up wider possibilities in the production of products with greater added value. Today’s customers are increasingly looking for something more than a label or an invitation. They are looking for white, varnish, gold, silver… These are no longer special colors. They are slowly moving into a standard that is taken for granted.
Letis is an offset printing house. How do you determine when the job is done on offset and when on Ricoh?
As a rule, all editions up to some 1000 sheets are profitable to work with Ricoh. However, sometimes with Ricoh we also prodice larger editions, it depends on the urgency of the delivery.
Given that today’s print runs are very small, it turns out that Ricoh does more work for us than offset. In addition to energy efficiency, we must also praise the print quality of the Ricoh Pro C7200X production printer, which can definitely be compared with offset. Its big advantage is the printing of a sheet length of 70 cm, which allows us to make longer posters or multi-folded brochures, which are increasingly in demand.
