Studio Kaligraf, specialized in the packaging production, i.e. the preparation of packaging for printing, is a well-known name in the domestic and European packaging market. Because of the work they do they must have knowledge about different printing techniques. Recently, the Roland VersaUV LEC2-330 print & cut printer arrived in their premises. Why did they decide to buy Roland technology was told to us by Mrs. Željka Tihomirović, marketing manager at Kaligraf.
“The answer is simple – we deal with packaging and preparation for production, and you simply can’t do that for a long time without the possibility of serious and quality model making. So far, all our 3D models have been almost like the original, but as we always strive for exceptional precision and quality, we decided to implement the Roland VersaUV LEC2-330 in the process. We have estimated that this printer, in combination with our knowledge and experience, is the most acceptable for the needs of most packaging preparation projects such as we do in Kaligraf, ”says Ms. Tihomirovic.
She adds that this machine considerably shortens their production time. It prints white color, matte and glossy varnish quickly and with high quality, it simulates overprinting and it has possibility to contour cut.
Roland can print on all types of media, which is not possible with some other printers that work only on “their own” material. In the Kaligraf studio, they point out that it is important for them to be able to use any type of substrate, so they often print on the original material. “Such models are really difficult to distinguish from the final packaging,” they point out.
